Shit Men Say to Men Who Say Shit to Women on the Street
Can we get more of this, men?

Wait, let me back up.
Hi, my name is Cara and I’m a 21 year old woman. Every 28 days, give or take, I have a period. And it fucking sucks. Today, was one of those where I take from the 28 day cycle. I wasn’t due for another period for at least a week, but considering…
I hope Barack Obama chooses an old white guy to be his running mate for political purposes, and then finds out that the old white guy is a pretty chill dude who calls Obama’s biggest domestic accomplishment “a big fucking deal” and they have an epic bromance like no President and Veep have ever had before.
Can I just say how much I love this? I love this and it’s one hundred percent accurate.

poeticimplosion asked: i'm (re)writing a poem about the word vagina. (it was my first slam) i thought you'd be excited. i'm going to perform it at the next fluorescent expressions. :D i needed to rewrite it in light of recent politicians.
Lol sounds awesome! I wrote a poem today for this first time in so long, I was pretty proud of myself.
Michael Ramirez you are shit and will always be shit.
This cartoon is so stupid. Remember in the Constitution where it says that the purpose of our government is to “promote the general welfare”? And remember how free birth control is promoting the general welfare? Oh wait, you don’t remember either of those things because you haven’t read the Constitution, you just whip out the idea of it any time you think your position is being questioned despite the fact that it doesn’t support you. Trans Activist Agnes Torres Murdered In Puebla
Trans activist and respected counselor Agnes Torres Hernández was found dead this past Saturday near the town of Atlixco, Puebla. Reports indicate she was tortured before being killed.
Friends and supporters gathered to mourn and pay tribute to Agnes this evening in Puebla, the state’s capital city. Earlier today, the hashtag #AgnesTorres was a trending topic on Twitter, with thousands posting messages of support for Agnes, her family, and the LGBT community.
Former colleagues of Agnes Torres are demanding a thorough investigation and calling for a special department within Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission dedicated to cases of hate crimes against lesbians, gays, and transsexuals.
‘¡Justicia Para Agnes Torres!
“My dream is to live in a better culture, one where hospitality and respect will be the principle values. Every morning I get up and I do much more than just write, so that the next day I might wake up in my dream. The only thing left to find out is: What you will do in order to share it?”
Atheists are oppressed!!!!!
I mean, churches have mints and candies in those bowls near the little pamphlets near the front.
Atheists don’t even have churches so how can we get free candy?
It’s oppression!
*As mocked by people that have never been beaten for their views
You’re serious…
I’d never say we’re AS oppressed but as someone that’s come home from school with dozens of bruises from Christians that “accidentally” hit me every day because I didn’t go to church? It’s not like we’re equal either.
I kinda agree with the above but kinda don’t.
Atheists are not treated well in America.
(They were, in 2009, the most hated group in America)
My original post was satirizing that post going around tumblr that said Atheists are oppressed like POC and Women, which is simply not true.
Vikas, but what about this image :’(
I still say that nowhere in that image does it say they are suffering equally. Just from the same source.
If I were going to criticize anything about this image, it’s that it reduces the causes of lgbtq* persons and women to just two things (women are negatively affected by women in more ways than just those regarding contraception and abortion, and lgbtq* people are negatively affected in more areas than just marriage, although I guess “rights” kind of umbrellas it). The other thing I would criticize is that it fails to recognize the intersectionality between these three groups—it’s not necessarily three different categories, since I fit into all three of them, and I feel as though the image could’ve been designed in a way which didn’t separate the three as much (maybe a venn diagram?). But again, I think it’s pointing out that many of the problems that these three “categories” of people (trying to think of a better way to put that, but again, the image kind of forcibly separates these categories) stem from a root cause, which we can and should all want to fight against. That’s why, for me, being an atheist/anti-theist also means I am a supporter of lgbtq* rights and women’s rights—because I believe that religion negatively affects all of these groups and, therefore, I should fight against the detrimental effects that religion has on them. To me, being an anti-theist is intersectional with being a feminist and with fighting for lgbtq* issues, and that’s what this image expresses to me.
Edit: I’d also like to note that one of the things I like about this image, and something which I think actually points out the nonsense going on in this debate, is that it doesn’t say at the bottom “We can end the oppression,” but rather “the oppresionS.” That “s” is important—it’s recognizing that there are different, unequal forms of oppression going on here.
